Folks just want to earn some extra money. The easiest way they find is that Adsense. But Adsense’s basic requirement is content. Where you put ads if you don’t have any content? All people are not content writer and not suppose to have sense of building desirable content. Then the only thing left is that copying content and editing them, Sometimes not even editing. This gives rise to widespread of content theft or dupe content.

Although Search Engines are getting enough intelligent to return the original and most relevant results to the end user, duplicate contents also occupy some places in the SERPs. Thus how even duplicate content also gets some traffic that is being cashed by some folks. Adsense may or may not be responsible for dupe contents but the main culprits are such copy cats.

Google Page Rank Update Oct 2007.

Google is now on updating the algorithm of Page rank. Can’t say that it is done or still in process because the speculation of Google dance is still hot news. This is the second update in the PR toolbar in the same year. First one was happened in the month of January 2007. There are many sites that have lost the page rank from PR–1 to PR–4. Some new sites have now PR ranging from 1 to 3 but many of the old ones have lost on PR.
One of the interesting things happened in this Oct 2007 update is that the page rank of inner pages remained unchanged or increased by PR+1 to PR+3.
Thank God! Google has only updated page rank algorithm that has no effect on the google’s indexing. Means no effect in the traffic and that in turns not affecting the business.
Results of the google update: (short summary)
- Sites with Paid links penalized.
- Many sites pagerank has come down.
- Web Directories are down including Yahoo Directory from 6 to 5.
- Many bloggers who earn money by selling their space are seeing fall in their pagerank.
- Google has made it very clear that they are against artificial links.
Possible reasons behind the falling page rank. (Predictions)
- Most of the blog’s site and the websites those are in the network of blogs have lost the page rank.
- It may be also due to paid link or sponsored link on your websites.
- It could also be due to bad neighborhoods or spammers around you.
- Many website might have been panelized having irrelevant bakclinks instead of links from the niche directories or niche websites.
- Google do not want to let “the market of selling or purchasing links” get firmed in the Internet.

Does really Google penalize for ALT spamming?
Google is so smart that it easily recognize the ALT spamming. For this Google has set some criteria to give the importance to respective ALT. And if ALT text fails to satisfy the criteria, gets no value from Google. In case of deceiving tactics, Google Punish you.
- Do not have different ALT texts for same repeating images.
- Google also do not allow same ALT text for different images.
- ALT text should not be too longer.
Alt spamming is not a very serious issue. That’s why Google do not ban your site but can throw your page into supplement index for some time. And when Google crawls your page again after some period of time and if you have corrected the mistake your page get back to listing.
My site was on 2nd and 3rd page for couple of keywords. I wanted my site on first page. I didn’t had time do link building as it takes too much time. All what I could do was some on-site work. But the page was already well optimized. The thing I could do on the page was to increase the keyword density. But there were no place to add some more keyword so I inserted the keyword in almost all the ALT attribute. Thus my top keyword was repeating in the entire ALT attribute.
In the very next day I didn’t find my page in the Google listing. The page was nowhere for that particular keyword. I immediately corrected the mistake. And after 10 -12 days the respective page went back to 2nd page. I would suggest you never try fooling Google, you can hurt you ranking.

What do you think, how much difficult is to make a completely optimized website? What precautions should be taken while optimizing a website? Are you well aware about the downsides of neglecting the SEO aspects? Irritating, isn’t it! I know you have got irritated with so many questions? Same happens with me, when I get sunk in the lake of questions. It all happens when nothing works. There is a suggestion from me, when such things happening with you, start thinking reversed. Instead of thinking what to do, concentrate on what not to do. Trust me it works.
I implemented lots of things to my website so that I could rise its ranking, I also got some good results but not up to the expectations. I always used to bother what should be done to improve my ranking. You might also be, but before bothering make sure that the website is either lacking any aspect or not. There are many seo aspects to be worked on. I have enlisted almost every small thing that might be responsible for your bad ranking. If you avoid these points, definitely you are going to have better ranking.
1. Domain Name Mistakes:
It is well-established fact that the brand matters. Usually companies either have their brand name in the URLs or product name. If the brand name is very popular and recognized then it is good to have brand name in the domain name and in else case product name serves the objectives. There is no sense to use irrelevant keywords in the URLs. The first step of your journey in the web world starts with the selection of domain name. Make a firm and solid step.

The title tag is one of the most important places, where SE looks for keywords. Many people spoil the title tag by using irrelevant keywords and putting excessive keywords in the url. There are few things that destroy the significance of your title tag.
1. Placing irrelevant keyword and phrase in the title.
2. The length of the title tag keeping too long, better if keeping it up to 80 characters.
3. Excessive keywords in Meta tag:
In early years of search engine optimization mata tag used to be the whole and sole of SE optimization. But when seo had learnt to play with mata tag, SEs have come up with some more factors upon what the search is based.
Irrelevant and excessive keywords diminish the importance of the mata tags.
4. Irrelevant keywords in the content:
The high keyword density and inappropriate keywords in the content lead to spamming and keyword stuffing. This can affect the ranking of the site and it can also be responsible for the delisting.
Search engine likes to move through the fresh content where the keywords are well placed accordingly keyword proximity.
5. Too much flash files:
There are several downsides of using too much flash files.
1. Websites generally take more time to load because of heavy flash files.
2. SE doesn’t read flash files.
3. Too many Flash files occupy the spaces that reduce the complete utilization of page for the content or keywords.
6. Missing alt attribute:
Alt attribute in the img tag provides the facility to use keywords for the image. Many people don’t take the advantage of this hidden area for the keywords, which allows us to feed keywords without requiring any place on the screen.
It is not possible to use all the alt attributes, but you must use it as much as you can.
7. Stumbling with anchor text:
Anchor text plays an important role for targeting the particular keywords. Hence it is one of the valuable and useful things for a seo. But still people do several mistakes like…

2. Frequent change of anchor texts.
3. Not varying the anchor text.
8. Unorganized link structure:
Generally user get lost in the website if the link structure is not properly organized. It also affects the crawling of search engine through the website. Hence for the better navigation you must have a well-organized link structure.
9. Use of Frames:
Frame generally referred as the enemy of the SEO. SEs don’t like frames because frames bother search engines for its smooth crawling in the website. Search engines do get confused because of frames.
Frames come up with several pages before the SEs that confuses the search engine to choose the page to move through it. Hence it is not at all good to use the frames for developing websites, unless you want to block the SEs.
10. Extensive use of JavaScript:
No search engine read the scripts. Thus whatever have been included in the JavaScript like content, anchor texts, images etc. remain untouched by the search engine’s spider.
